This blog post is a reflection on the final few pages at the end of the novel. Please respond to each question separately but on the same post.
1. At the end of the novel, the narrative perspective/voice changes. Who is this new narrator? What is his/her connection to Kien and the mute girl? Has this been the narrator throughout the entire story? What might Bao Ninh be trying to say about the larger ideas of war and/or humanity? Use quotations in your analysis.
2. Re read the final two pages of the novel. The narrator speaks a great deal about the sorrow of war. Isolate 1-2 quotations and explain why Ninh may have titled his novel The Sorrow of War.
